Dr. Sherrelle Milligan

Owner, Veterinarian

Dr. Sherrelle Milligan is passionate about providing exceptional patient care. As an experienced veterinarian, Dr. Milligan has a proven track record of delivering high-quality, warm and tender-hearted care to her patients. She is also dedicated to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine to ensure the best possible clinical outcomes.

Dr. Milligan offers a full range of veterinary services, including preventative care such as physical exams and vaccines, routine and non-routine soft tissue surgery, the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases, dentistry and oral surgery, eye care, nutrition counseling, end-of-life care and much more.

She holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine, earned in 2014. After completing her DVM, she went on to further her education, completing a Laboratory Animal Medicine Residency and becoming Board Eligible in 2017 from Texas A&M University. In 2018, she earned her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Veterinary Pathobiology with a focus on Lipid Biochemistry and Metabolism from Texas A&M University.

Dr. Milligan brings her exceptional education, experience, and dedication, combined with her compassionate and patient-centered approach to every interaction with her patients & clients.

Dr. Alyssa O’Dell

Veterinarian

Dr. Alyssa O’Dell is a dedicated veterinarian serving the Greater Columbia Area since 2015. With a strong commitment to animal welfare and health, she provides exceptional veterinary care, specializing in comprehensive wellness exams, preventive care, and compassionate treatment for pets of all ages and breeds. Dr. O’Dell is skilled in diagnosing and treating various medical and dermatologic conditions. She offers surgical expertise when necessary and provides personalized nutritional and behavioral advice to pet owners.

Beyond her veterinary practice, Dr. O’Dell has a keen interest in dog sports and training. She actively participates in and promotes activities such as agility, obedience, rally, canine scent work, and canine fitness, emphasizing the importance of physical exercise and mental stimulation for dogs. Her passion for dog sports extends to educating pet owners on the benefits of these activities for their pets’ overall well-being.

Dr. O’Dell earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Oklahoma State University. She remains committed to continuous learning through ongoing education and training, staying updated with advancements in veterinary medicine.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. O’Dell enjoys spending time outdoors with her own pets, camping and hiking with her partner, Dr. Jason Wright (also a veterinarian!), and spending time with family and friends.

Roderick Milligan, MBA

Co-Owner, Business Manager

Roderick Milligan is a highly-skilled and experienced practice manager at The Pet Space Veterinary Hospital in Lexington, SC. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Tuskegee University and a Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. With a diverse energy, technology, and animal health background, Roderick brings a unique perspective to the role of practice manager. His expertise in business administration and operations and his passion for animal health make him a valuable asset to The Pet Space Veterinary Hospital team.

Ryan Bertrand

LVT

Ryan Bertrand is a highly-skilled and knowledgeable licensed veterinary technician at The Pet Space Veterinary Hospital in Lexington, SC. He holds an associate’s Degree in Applied Sciences from SUNY Delhi and has over two decades of animal health experience. Ryan’s extensive technical experience includes expertise in various specialties, including large and small animal medicine, emergency medicine, neurology, dermatology, soft tissue surgery, and orthopedic surgery. With his extensive education and hands-on experience, Ryan is committed to providing all animals with the highest quality of care.

Leah Lomastro

LVT

Leah Lomastro is a licensed veterinary technician with a degree from Piedmont Technical College (2018-2020). While in school, Leah interned at various animal clinics and hospitals including Grace Animal Hospital and The Cat Clinic. After graduating, she worked at Banfield Pet Hospital before joining our veterinary team here at The Pet Space. Leah’s favorite thing about being a licensed veterinary technician is being able to provide direct care to animals, working alongside veterinarians to diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries, and having the opportunity to educate pet owners on how to care for their animals. She also finds fulfillment in being able to make a positive difference in the lives of all animals and their human companions.

Rae Gail

Veterinary Assistant

With six years of experience as a veterinary assistant, I bring a deep passion for animal care and a diverse background to my role. My journey began with training and showing horses, where I developed a keen understanding of animal behavior and health. Over the years, I’ve built on this foundation, working in various aspects of veterinary care and honing my skills in fear-free practices, sample collection and client education. My lifelong commitment to animal welfare drives me to provide compassionate, high-quality care to every patient.
